SkyWatch Friday - Fishing sunset

On the way home from ice fishing on Ririe Reservoir, the sun was just snuggling into it slumber for the night.  Deer were enjoying the view as I passed them, but it was too dark for me to capture them.  Sunsets are created by impurities in the air; short lived, but beautiful.

Just the close of another wild day in Idaho.

Impurities cause such spectacular perfection? Well, this one is really a beauty! I also posted a sunset this week.

And another gorgeous capture from Idaho! Always look forward to your incredible sunsets/sunrises! Sorry about the impurities, but the beauty is incredible. Glad you had fun ice fishing! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Bill! Stay warm! I'm not sure when winter will end here in Seattle, let alone Idaho -- lived in Montana too long to even try to guess!

I tell people that the particulates and nitrous oxides provide much of the color and they just look at me.

Great photo. I remember trout fishing on Ririe Reservoir years ago when my parents still had their boat. We had some great outings.

These are the sort of scenes that make you feel good to be alive. Great day out Bill.

Fabulous sunset, no matter what its cause.

One time when we lived in Eugene, they put a beautiful blazing red sunset on the front of the phone book (back when those used to matter). Someone pointed out that those August sunsets were caused by the controversial grass field burning. OH well, it was just as well to have a picture of it because back then you could hardly go outside during the month. (New laws, it's better now.)
