But as the storm passed just as the sun was setting we were greeted by a fantastic rainbow reflected off the water.
A little later as the sun had set, it reflected off the boiling clouds over Mount Jefferson on the southwest of Henrys Lake.
An unplanned way to end another wild day in Idaho.

Sometimes unplanned is best. That rainbow and its reflection are fantastic. And the sunset gold is lovely, too.
We've been having a lot of unsettled weather in the mountains, too.
Stunning and amazing!

There had to be a pot of gold at the end of that magnificent rainbow. What a wonderful image with the reflection.
The golden, boiling clouds are mesmerizing.

Thank you for stopping by my side in the village ! really beautiful pictures you have here! nice weekend ;
Stunning pair of images Bill, But that Rainbow shot is something else, love it.
Gorgeous! My Sky Watch was a rainbow too...a beautiful one that lasted 15 minutes or more. But my photo didn't capture it as beautifully as yours.
That rainbow is so vivid and to capture the reflection, too, is wonderful. Sunset can last for such a long time, unlike sunrise, or so it seems to me.
That's the most vivid rainbow I have ever seen. Just gorgeous!

That must have been such a wonderful day, these shots are fabulous! I love your blog header shot too.
The rainbow with reflection is gorgeous and certainly as good as fishing.

Stunning photo - that must be the southern far end of my rainbow - hee hee!
Don't you just love surprises like this!? Fabulous.
I do believe this is the most beautiful and serene rainbow shot I have ever seen. I hope it was as cool and crisp as it looks!
Your eyes are always open to the beauty of this earth. Thank you for sharing.
Wow, what a cool capture of the rainbow and reflection! Very NICE! Happy skywatching!
Fantastic!! Thanks for your visit.
That rainbow is a stunner! Better than fishing maybe? Your views make me miss mountains -- it is flat here where we are now!
Wow, fantastic rainbow shot! You are so very blessed to be living in your part of God's country, as my dad calls it. :o)
The rainbow is beautiful, but the bottom image after the sun has set behind the mountains is heavenly Bill, just glorious~
A shame the fishing didn't go as planned, but you have some amazing photos.
The storm must have been quite something, but your photos goes to prove that there is still beauty even in such conditions.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend Bill!
