With the cold mornings hovering around zero, the air is filled with ice crystals creating beautiful sun spikes. These only last for about three or four minutes before they are gone. The best ones are just as the sun breaks over the eastern Teton Mountains east of Rexburg. Timing is critical to catch them at their peak.
Just the beginning of another wild day in Idaho.

And I'd say that you definitely caught it at that critical moment! This is gorgeous!
Those ice crystals make for beautiful sunrise with sun spikes, but that's way too cold for me to enjoy. Thanks for the wonderful capture.
Very beautiful photograph. Thanks for braving the cold to get it for us.
Wow! The colors in this sunrise are just brilliant and gorgeous! Great capture! Happy SkyWatch =)
beautiful! and not surprised that the best shots are over the tetons :)
Ahh, that golden western sky! And just knowing the Tetons are beyond. You are lucky indeed.
Bill: That is certainly a beauty.
That certainly makes getting out of bed worthwhile.
